It was the ones in a life time View when moon comes in between the sun and the earth causing the solar Eclipse. Though Nepalese didn’t have luck to watch this event Skywatchers from Mount Fuji to the Grand Canyon enjoyed a treat: the moon nearly blotting out the sun to create a dramatic 'ring of fire' over a narrow strip of eastern Asia and the western United States.
The annular eclipse, in which the moon passes in front of the sun leaving only a golden ring around its edges, was visible in Asia early Monday and It then moved across the Pacific - and the international dateline - and was seen in parts of the western United States Sunday afternoon.
In Japan, 'eclipse tours' were arranged at schools and parks, on pleasureboats and even private airplanes. Similar events were held in China andTaiwan as well, with skywatchers warned to protect their eyes.

Series of Solar Eclipse Seen From Tokyo

In the U.S., viewing parties were held at observatories in Reno, Nevada, andOakland, California, and elsewhere. In some areas, special camera filters for taking photographs have been sold out for weeks in anticipation of the big event.
Eventually, the moon centered and covered about 96 percent of the sun.

'That's got to be the prettiest thing I've ever seen, Said Veltri of Salida, inColorado to Daily Mail.
The eclipse was broadcast live on TV in Tokyo, where such an eclipse hasn't been visible since 1839. Japanese TV crews watched from the top of Mount Fuji and even staked out a zoo south of Tokyo to capture the reaction of the chimpanzees - who didn't seem to notice.
A light rain fell on Tokyo as the eclipse began, but the clouds thinned as it reached its peak, providing near perfect conditions.
Ring Of Fire Seen from New Mexico USA

'It was a very mysterious sight,' said Kaori Sasaki, who joined a crowd in downtown Tokyo to watch event. 'I've never seen anything like it.'
At the Taipei Astronomical Museum in Taiwan, the spectacle emerged from dark clouds for only about 30 seconds. But the view was nearly perfect againstManila's orange skies.
'It's amazing. We do this for the awe [and] it has not disappointed. I am awed, literally floored,' said astronomical hobbyist Garry Andreassen, whose long camera lenses were lined up with those of about 10 other gazers in a downtown Manila park.
Hong Kong skywatchers weren't so lucky.
'Ring of Fire' eclipses are not as dramatic as a total eclipse, when the disc of the sun is entirely blocked by the moon. The moon is too far from Earth and appears too small in the sky to blot out the sun completely.
Doctors and education officials have warned of eye injuries from improper viewing.
Before the event started, Japan's Education Minister Hirofumi Hirano demonstrated how to use eclipse glasses in a televised news conference.
Police also cautioned against traffic accidents - warning drivers to keep their eyes on the road.

Russia is set to build the world’s most powerful dual-purpose laser station at the approximate cost of 45 billion rubles ($1.5 billion), a Russian nuclear official said on Thursday.
The station might be built near the Sarov Federal Nuclear Center in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, said the head of the nuclear center, Ildar Ilkayev, but he did not specify when the construction would begin.

“The Russian leadership made a decision to build the world’s largest laser station… The United States has already constructed a similar station and France is about to complete the construction of their own station. We [Russia] are behind them because it costs a lot, but it will be the best one in the world,” Ilkayev said.
The mooted station, he said, will be both used for military and scientific purposes, particularly in the research of laser thermonuclear fusion, which scientists believe to be the backbone of the energy production in the future.

Ilkayev said it would take at least 10 years to build the station. It will be capable of directing 2.8 million joules of ultraviolet laser energy compared to the output of the U.S. and French stations of two mega joules.
The official also opts for the station, which will be 360 meters in width and as tall as a 10-storey building, to be open for all scientists, including from other countries.
U.S. California-based the National Ignition Facility (NIF) was put into operation in 2009 and is currently the world’s largest laser, occupying the territory of approximately three football fields. Its 192 intense laser beams are capable of delivering 60 times the energy of any previous laser systems to a target.

Now to be protected you do not need the bullet proof jacket or any bullet proof media. Because A Dutch team created a piece of "bulletproof" skin from special, U.S.-made spider silk and human skin cells and found that it indeed can repel bullets -- as long as they're not traveling too fast. The project is called “2.6 g 329m/s” which is the standard weight and velocity that a Type 1 bulletproof vest can protect against.Jalila Essaidi, of the Forensic Genomics Consortium in the Netherlands, along with contributors from other research institutes in the Netherlands and the U.S., have developed a "bulletproof" skin that was originally an art project that demonstrated the "relative concept of safety."

The skin is mixed with goat 'milk' from goats 'tweaked' to produce the same protein found in spider silk. Woven spider silk is four times stronger than Kevlar, the material used in bulletproof vests.
The spider silk and human skin cells were combined to create the "bulletproof" patch of skin. While this piece of skin is somewhat bulletproof, it cannot repel fast-moving bullets. For instance, it was pierced by a bullet shot at normal speed from a .22 caliber rifle, which is the standard level of protection for a Type 1 bulletproof vest. However, the patch of skin was able to prevent the penetration of a bullet shot at lower speeds (the researchers conveniently didn’t report the how fast the “lower speeds” were).
Bullet proof skin
Such skin is still a long way from adding practical protection to humans, but it gives a glimpse of what future soldiers or would-be superheroes might expect. After all, the U.S. military and other armed forces have continually sought new ways to bulletproof their warriors on the battlefield, and also have shown interest in discovering the ultimate warrior genes.
For now, anyone can check out the bulletproof skin in Leiden, Netherlands; it's on display at the National Natural History Museum Naturalis until Jan. 8, 2012.
