Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish would take Carlos Tevez on loan – if Manchester City let their rebel star leave before the window shuts.
, Liverpool have offered Andy Carroll to Manchester City as a part of a swap deal for Carlos Tevez, just a year after Carroll moved to the club from Newcastle for a fee of £35million. City, though, have rejected the approach. Duh.

The logic behind a swap is obvious, but obvious in the sense that a thick person might think of it, not obvious as in: obviously right. Yes, Carroll has failed to settle at Liverpool and Tevez has only recently spoken of coming off strike at City, but no, this does not make Liverpool’s attempt to swap an oaf for a world class talent in any way reasonable.
United have to pay around £22million to keep Tevez at the club after a complicated two-year loan agreement expires.
But today's Times reports Rafa Benitez is keen to battle Chelsea, Inter Milan and Manchester City for his signature.
Sir Alex Ferguson would be loathe to see Tevez sign for a rival after blocking Gabriel Heinze's switch to Liverpool two years ago.
